Six students living within a 5km radius of Paraparaumu College accepted the challenge to cycle to college during term 4, 2006. They used established off-road routes and/or safe residential cycling routes.
A cycling skills and a cycle maintenance course helped them prepare for the challenge.
Two students were selected to lead the challenge, and were provided with new, well-equipped bicycles including trip computers, as well as visibility gear for the duration of the challenge. Kathryn and Jordan's progress can be seen below.
